World Without Wars works to promote and encourage all kinds of ideas and actions to help achieve the end of wars. Its methodology is active nonviolence. Today, its principal activity is the World March for Peace and Nonviolence.

Campaigns of WWW have taken place in Canada since 1995, led by members of the Humanist Movement and others, but it was only in 2008 that we formed WWW-Canada as its own organization.

History

World Without Wars was first presented internationally in 1995 at the "Open Gathering of New Humanism" held in Chile, and attended by delegations from over 50 countries, including Canada. It's first international campaign was "A Week Without War in the Year 2000", for which an award-winning student documentary was produced in Toronto.

Since then, WWW has launched activities in many countries throughout the world, focusing primarily on forums and campaigns on nuclear disarmament.

WWW bases itself on the philosophy of universal or new humanism, and the doctrines of those that preceded it, convinced that it is possible to build a world without violence.

WWW endorses and promotes the "Humanist Document" whose basic points are:

• Rejection of physical violence, whose ultimate expression is war, and all other forms of violence: economic, racial, religious or sexual.
• Freedom of ideas and beliefs for all human beings.
• Development of knowledge and science in the service of life.
• Valuing of personal, social and cultural diversity.
• Affirmation of the equality of all human beings.
• The human being as the central value and concern.

We believe that the vast majority of human beings do not want war, but at the same time many believe that it is not possible to eliminate them. We therefore believe that, in addition to social actions, we must work to change popular beliefs about this supposed "unchangeable" reality.

When we eliminate war and violence, we will leave prehistory behind us once and for all, and make a giant step forward along the evolutionary path of humanity.

We organize in every country, every city and in every neighborhood, forming groups that share these ideas and that then freely plan and develop their activities. We welcome you to join with us.

In addition to local and national actions, WWW International endorses and actively supports the following campaigns: Europe For Peace, No Star Wars (Czech Republic), and "Europa Sin Armas Nucleares", among others.
