The Réseau International Humaniste (RIH) is an affiliated member of World without Wars in Canada, and has been actively promoting nonviolence education activities for over 10 years.
In 2009, over 14,000 students in Quebec participated in activities as part of the World March for Peace and Nonviolence. One of these activities featured 2000 students of the Bois Joli, Odysee, Escalade, and Nicolas-Gatineau schools forming a giant "Peace Symbol".

In April 2010, the RIH organized a tour of the Hiroshima Nuclear Abolition Flame throughout various schools in the Montreal/Gatineau region, to raise awareness of the need for nuclear disarmament. Two students from Sherbrooke, Louis Racine and Sébastien Bélanger, and Anne Farrell of the RIH, brought the Flame to New York as part of the activities around the UN's Nonproliferation Treaty Review Conference.
